Accounts
An account is optional. When you create one, we store your email address, a display name, and your puzzle progress and streaks. That's it.
Email authentication
We use magic-link sign-in. When you request a link, we send a short-lived URL to your email address so you can sign in without a password. We do not store passwords.
Anonymous usage analytics
Before9 records lightweight, anonymous events — page visits, game starts, completions and shares — so we can understand which puzzles are too hard or too easy. A random identifier is stored in your browser to deduplicate visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Google Analytics (optional)
When enabled, Before9 also sends the same anonymous event names to Google Analytics 4 to help us understand aggregate usage trends. We never send email addresses or personal identifiers to Google. Google's ad personalisation and signals are disabled.
Feedback submissions
When you send feedback through the in-app form, we store your message, the puzzle type and (if you provide it) your email address so we can reply.
Account support & data deletion
For account help, login issues, or to request deletion of your account and associated data, and choose Account help.
